REWARDS OF FASTING FROM AHADEETH

Narrated from Hadrat Abu Hurairah Radiyallaahu Anhu that:

"The Messenger of Allah Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: 'There has come to you Ramadaan, a blessed month, wherein Allah Ta’ala has enjoined you to fast. In it the gates of heavens are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and every devil is chained up. In it Allah Ta’ala has a night which is better than a thousand months; whoever is deprived of its goodness is indeed deprived."'(An Nasaa’i)

Narrated from Hadrat Abu Huraira Radiyallaahu Anhu that:

The Prophet Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said, "Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah Ta’ala, then all his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever fasts in the month of Ramadaan out of sincere faith, and hoping for a reward from Allah Ta’ala, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.”(Bukhari)

Narrated from Hadrat Abu Huraira Radiyallaahu Anhu that:

The Prophet Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: “Allah Ta’ala has said: Every act of the son of Adam is for him except fasting. It is done for My sake, and I will give a reward for it. By Allah in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad, the breath of the observer of fast is sweeter to Allah than the fragrance of musk. (Muslim)

Narrated from Hadrat Abu Huraira Radiyallaahu Anhu that:

The Prophet Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: “Every (good) deed of the son of Adam would be multiplied, a good deed receiving a tenfold to seven hundredfold reward. Allah Ta’ala has said: With the exception of fasting, for it is done for Me and I will give a reward for it, for one abandons his passion and food for My sake. There are two occasions of joy for one who fasts, joy when he breaks it, and joy when he meets his Lord, and the breath (of an observer of fast) is sweeter to Allah Ta’ala than the fragrance of musk”.(Muslim)

Narrated from Hadrat Abu Sa'id al Khudri Radiyallaahu Anhu that:

The Prophet Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: “Every servant of Allah who observes fast for a day in the way of Allah, Allah would remove, because of this day, his face farther from the Fire (of Hell) to the extent of seventy years' distance.(Muslim)

Hadrat Abu Umaamah Radiyallaahu Anhu said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, tell me of an action by which I may enter Paradise'. He said: 'Take to Fasting, there is nothing like it.' "(An-Nasaa'ee, Ibn Hibbaan, Al-Haakim, Sahih)

Narrated from Hadrat Sahl bin Sa`d Radiyallaahu Anhu that:

The Prophet Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: "Indeed there is a gate of Paradise called Ar-Rayyaan. On the day of Resurrection those who fasted will enter through it; no one enters it except for them, and when they have entered, it is closed so that no one enters it, so when the last of them enters it, it is closed, and whoever enters it, drinks, and whoever drinks never becomes thirsty." [Ibn Khuzaimah, Sahih].

The Prophet Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam is reported to have said: "Fasting is a shield with which a servant protects himself from the Fire." [Ahmad, Sahih]

The Prophet Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam is reported to have said: “On the Day of Judgment, "Fasting will say: O My Lord I prevented him from food and desires, so accept my intercession for him." [Ahmad, al-Haakim and Abu Nu'aim, Hasan]

The Prophet Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam is reported to have said:  "He who fasts Ramadaan with Imaan and hoping for reward (from Allah) then his past sins are forgiven." [Bukhari, Muslim]
