Your tribe:
By Naadira Chhipa

Sometimes you could spend an entire lifetime with people you are related to by blood and still never truly connect with them. You could have parents who you respect, care for and love, yet that ultimate bond of accepting you for who you are could never be achieved. You could have siblings who you visit, love and care for, yet they could never understand, appreciate nor celebrate the 'real' you. You could be married to your spouse for decades, yet still be strangers to each other. You could have children who you would sacrifice your life for, yet still feel alone. This breaks hearts, it pains to know that people you share most of your life with, people you love the most may not be the same people who speak to your soul or appreciate your true self.

Acknowledge that feeling of hurt and pain and let it go. You will always share an unbreakable bond of blood with your family, you will always love, care, protect, value and appreciate them even if they do not do the same for you. Forgive them and love them for who they truly are.

Seek your tribe, hold on to those people who bring comfort to your heart, mind and soul. Hold on to those rare friendships that are honest, true, happy and strong. Hold on to those people who see into the dark depths of your mind and soul, yet still appreciate the beauty of the light illuminating your eyes. Hold on to the sisterhood or brotherhood who welcomes you without judgement. Hold on to the ones who care and protect you in and out of your presence. Hold on to those who will love you for you. Hold on to the never ending conversations, the inspiring advises, the roaring fits of laughter, the strength, the courage, the care, the encouragement, the motivation and love from your tribe. Hold on to the people in your life who truly make your heart happy. Hold on to the ones in your tribe.

Your happiness, your achievements, your failures, your tears, your laughter, your fears, your hopes, your dreams, your struggles, your peaks, your lows, your love and your life should be appreciated, celebrated, valued and shared with people who embrace you with your scars, your open wounds and unmasked emotions. Embrace those who accept and love you for who you are, just the way you are.

Seek Allah always as he is as close to you as your jugular vein and his mercy, love and forgiveness is infinite.
